Hello everyone,
Here are some tips from the exaMENTOR team to keep in mind as you are preparing for the UFE over the next several weeks.
Do submit your simulations for marking earlier on so that you can start incorporating our feedback into your practice exams. The earlier we can help you out, the better!
Do not wait until the last week before the exam or until you believe your paper is in a good shape to submit to the marker.
Do spread out your submissions so you can make sure that you are staying on track!
Do not submit all your papers towards the end to assess how you are doing. Remember that you would want to incorporate our feedback and not just look at the rankings.
Do debrief every single case you write and make sure you understand why you missed issues or requireds. Go back to the simulation and look for triggers and case facts as you are debriefing!
Do not get discouraged as you go through the debriefs! If you did not do as well on a case as you were hoping to, it is a great opportunity to learn and improve!
Do simulate the real life scenario which means staying within your time allocations. It is important to get into the habit of cutting off your discussion as you are practicing, so that you feel comfortable with it at the exam.
Do not go over the allocated time on any simulation even by a couple of minutes!
Do review your technical as you are debriefing.
Do not avoid technical areas that you are uncomfortable with or leave them until the last week before the exam.
Do take time off on weekends to relax and not think about the exam. It would be ideal to do something fun, yet relaxing and get away from your regular surroundings even for a day (for example, go to a cottage) or an hour (for example, take a walk in park).
Do not panic if you are feeling burnt out or overwhelmed. You might want to consider taking half a day off on a day that you are feeling too tired and start fresh the next day.
