Numerous myths surround the UFE preparation process. Some of the myths listed below guided us while preparing our package of available services. This makes our services not only unique but also exceptionally helpful to any UFE candidate.

Myth 1
All candidates can pass the exam following the same level of guidance and type of advice.
Fact 1
A successful UFE candidate must tap directly into his/her unique strengths, which will depend on his/her personality, work experience and academic experience. In fact, research has shown that each human brain is uniquely wired. This is why we believe in tailoring our advice to suit each candidate, not forcing each candidate to tailor themselves to suit our advice. It is also why we believe in smaller size classes and ultimately, one-on-one coaching sessions!
Myth 2
It is unnecessary to teach candidates how to prepare for the exam’s technical elements.
Fact 2
Most candidates are uncertain about how to study technical rules and often give up after a few attempts. Though effective memory techniques are not taught at most high schools and universities, they are essential tools that benefit any student studying detailed and voluminous technical rules. That is why we incorporated our own “Memory-Techniques” session in our workshops.
Myth 3
Ultimately, candidates are responsible for monitoring their own progress and thus it is unnecessary to track candidates’ performances.
Fact 3
Candidates often report having difficulties interpreting their results on a tracking sheet or identifying their weak areas. In fact, even a year after a failed UFE attempt, many experienced writers remain confused about why they were unsuccessful. It is critical that a professional UFE coach tracks each candidate’s performance, to compare not only their results against his/her peer group, but also to identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations. Rather than just going through the motions of UFE prep, exaMENTOR candidates are directed to focus on improving their specific weaknesses. In addition, we monitor our candidates’ performance throughout the year.
Myth 4
Stress is not a factor in passing the exam and thus should not be addressed in the UFE preparation process.
Fact 4
The majority of CPA, CA candidates report being affected by the pressure of the exam. Negative and uncontrolled emotions can hinder performance. Many of us may recall when a significant amount of stress has negatively impacted our performance. Unfortunately, most educational institutions overlook this area, so candidates often find themselves unprepared to deal with the stress. We believe candidates’ exam performances improve significantly after they are given practical advice on stress management, including a study schedule, diet and relaxation tips. That is why we incorporated our own “Above-the-Stress” session in our workshops.
Myth 5
Having practice papers marked by the candidate’s peers is a substitute to professional marking.
Fact 5
Candidates can receive great benefits from marking one another’s practice papers. By exchanging their work, candidates can learn while identifying strengths and weaknesses in their peers’ papers. On the other hand, we have observed that due to their own inexperience, candidates often overlook important issues when marking their peers’ work. Therefore, in order to ensure an accurate and reliable assessment of a candidate’s performance, experienced markers need to be involved. That is why we offer high quality marking services.
