The holiday season is now over and the New Year is here! Here at exaMENTOR, we know that some of you might be still preoccupied with an unsuccessful UFE result last year. Here are several reasons why you should instead focus on the new year and new opportunities:

–          Look into the future and have a plan of action! Even though you might have been unsuccessful on the 2012 UFE, it’s in the past. You have no control over the past and it’s time to look into the future. One of the good ways to focus on the future is to have a brief plan in mind that you will put into action in 2013. This would help you feel in control. Sometimes just saying to yourself, “I will pass the UFE  next year”, (and believing it!) is enough of a plan! Perhaps your plan could be to get a study buddy, seek advice from a marker or sign up for a prep program. Whenever you start thinking about the 2012 UFE, just briefly remind yourself of your action plan for 2013!

–          Remember – It’s just an exam! Yes, it is. Despite the fact that sometimes it’s hard to believe it and it appears like so much more than ‘just an exam’ to us, it is still just an exam! Your success in life and career is not determined by just one exam. Don’t forget about the big picture!

 –          Press the “restart” button now! The best way to stay in control of this year’s exam prep is by starting early. You don’t want to feel rushed at the end or feel uncomfortable with your case-writing skills or technical knowledge just weeks before the exam. Doing some technical review now (especially if you are expecting to be busy during the tax season) would be a great way to get a head start!

The new year is an opportunity to start fresh. Take advantage of that. Flip the page and don’t look back. Look forward to your UFE success in 2013!
